污染密度指数(SDI值)是表征反渗透系统进水水质的重要指标。
其测定方法的基本原理是测量在 30psi 给水压力下用 0.45 μ m 微滤膜过滤(间隔十五分钟)一定量的原水所需要的时间比值。
但手动的SDI测试方法却极花费时间，而且工作过程非常单调、容易产生错误。美国Simple SDI测试仪实现了自动、便携等特点，而且执行SDI5，10，15分钟100ml及500ml的6项数值测量。这是手动SDI测量方法所不可能完成的
